The Lime Sludge Thickener Bridge replacement for US Steel Corporation's Clairton Plant evolved from a rehabilitation of the existing structure to a full replacement of the bridge structure and the addition of a stair tower.  In addition to the high moisture and corrosive environment, this project involved components critical to the continued operations of the facility, leaving Young Structural Sales a small window to fabricate and install these components.

Through the use of 3D modeling, and the use of local vendors, YSS was able to fabricate the bridge structure in three deliverable sections.  Each section contained not only the structure, but also the checkered plate and handrail that comprised the internal walkway, and all required pipe and utility supports.  All materials were galvanized prior to final assembly, insuring that this structure can weather its local environment for years to come.
