Ohio’s Construction Reform Law (OCR), passed in 2011, made this project possible as a Design Build (GMP) project. Utilizing fully integrated BIM technologies to coordinate both the base contract, which included capacity for 15,000 tons of chilled water, the design team was also challenged with incorporating the design components for the future installation of an additional 15,000 tons of chilled water capacity. Steel Structures of Ohio worked closely with the design team to reduce the building steel tonnage, while also incorporating and providing bridge cranes and hoists used to service the building’s heavy equipment.
